Guest guest
Yes, Barbara, It's been a tough road. Last year I had to fight Prostate Cancer and apparently won although it took it's toll on my body. I went from about 170 pounds to 158 by the time treatment was done and I haven't gained it back. My Rummy gave me Plaquenil that caused severe gastric problems and landed me in the hospital. Then I went back in when following directions and stopping one heart med. Then came the chemical stress test that felt like a 5 story building landing on my chest. That's when they found the " Widowmaker " blockage in my heart, leading to the bypass surgery. All for just an old standby, Plaquenil that I took for only almost 2 weeks. But in the long run, depression seems to have won the prize and you don't just take a pill for that. Thanks, Barbara. Guest guest
Hi Dennis. You have through hell and it is no wonder you are depressed. You have so much to overcome, and I hope you can recover slowly and begin to have a life again. I am always amazed at what some of these meds. can do to us. We are all searching for the right meds. to give us our lives back. It is a very hard road for so many here. I know that " Widow Maker " is very serious, and I am glad your were able to have the by-pass surgery. I hope that now that you have gone through so much, that all the bad stuff is all in the past, and only good things ahead for you. I know how hard it has been for you. All we are trying to do, is live with this ugly disease, and have much better days ahead. Some days that just seems so impossible. I hope your future will be much brighter, and less stressful. I told you I was glad to see you posting again. It is really good that you can talk to all of us, so we can send you our support and love. It does help Dennis. You know what I have been going through for the last 1 1/2 years. I was in very bad emotional shape, getting depressed, so I sought professional help. It was the best thing I did for myself. I was doing better, but yesterday things came crashing down on me. My husband had intimated that we should try to get back together, he loved me, missed me etc. I have been on the fence over this. He left me a message to call hime which I did. Well the w---e he is with picked up the phone and said he was too busy to come to the phone. I said, " Put my husband on the phone " . Her answer was this, " Barbara, I want to tell you something, and I have been seeing each other for 3 years. " To say I was devastated, was putting it mildly. I pushed the off button, and then I totally lost it. I was hysterical for 3 hours. I really thought I would have a stroke. Needless to say, I did not sleep last night. I called my attny. and said I am all done being nice. I do have a court date for July, which can't come faster for me. All this sh--has rained down on me, and I can't take anymore. My drs. are worried about all this stress I am under, and what it will do to me and my RA. I have tried to live my life with honesty, integrity, love and being a kind, gentle person. I will never change that. I never thought anything like this would ever happen to me, but it sure did. I have had no debt for 30 years, and planned for our financial security. He has failed to comply with a court order, has given me no money or 1/2 the value of our home. I am in debt, which I hate, my son is supporting me, which I hate, and I so want to move ahead. Now I am done with my husband, not going back, etc. I am off that fence finally. So you see Dennis, the trauma in our lives, can cause serious depression. We have to fight our way back to the life we richly deserve, and need to have. It is a up hill battle, but we will win and survive in the end. Life is much to short, living with depression each day, is not the life we need or want. I hope you rise above all that has happened to you, and begin to enjoy the one life we have. Please take care of yourself, and just know I care about you. Things will get better, I am sure of that. I am going to volunteer at the animal shelter as I love all animals with fur!!!! I am also busy doing my Mermaid needlepoint, and will get back to my folk art painting. I also read a lot, and enjoy t.v. I also love my " magic machine, " and enjoy surfing the web. I know better days are ahead for all of us. Wishing you many pain free days ahead, and better health.
