Guest guest
Hi I had hives when I first got to the UK and had no idea what I ws reacting to. I now know it seems to stem from things with gluten, wheat or foods which aren't allowed on the BBD! I swelled up due to wheat/gluten/dairy products over the Christmas period - my only solution for my reactions are to stick religiously to the diet. Chocolate (dairy chocolate typically) makes me itch and leaves me with itchy bumps or lumps similar to what my fist outbreak was like. My sympathies are with you as I know exactly what you're going through. My first 'hive' experience happened whilst I was starting a new job and was REALLY stressed out. I just stay away from milk chocolate and foos with additives and preservatives and everything else which I know bring about these reactions. I also had a 'scratch test' when it first happened, but now I jst pay attention to when I see and feel a 'hive' break out. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but it's just about paying attention to what, when, where every day and not just regarding food. Some stuff like clothing and rubbing against things (materials, short-haired dogs etc) make me react. As boring and as unhelpful as this is, it's just about being a bit overly observant. *shrugs* Hang in there!! Your appointment will help and wll give you some ideas of what to steer clear of. Guest guest
I would get the elisa test. But allergies are a two sided equation. Taking things in/exposure and getting rid of things/excretion. If your body is plugged up and toxic it greatly increases allergy reactions. Not to long ago, I got really constipated and got hives from that and I never get hives and never have allergic reactions. When your body gets backed up and is not detoxing your risk of allergies goes up. A great fix for allergies is doing liver flushes. So even if the shows allergies to things, that doesnt doom you for life. You could do liver flushes and resolve that allergy. Guest guest
keith... U mkea very good point. I read that in a health forum and actually did liver cleanse. I took phyllium hulls and liver cleanse by nature sunshine along with lecithin and i had several very good bms but the hives still come. Im sure i was getting toxic and am taking some detoxifying herbs. Im going to insist on the elisa test tomorrow as i deem it important in handling my ms. I will go on a ten day fast and only take vitamines and minerls and green drinks at the end of jan to really detox my system. Ive done it befor nd had positive results with th ms so i believe i m needing to do it again. thanks again for pointing this out
Guest guest
Hives can be caused by haptens, which are in your environment: http://www.haptens.republika.pl/haptenology_en.html http://www.haptens.republika.pl/images/poster.jpg J. Guest guest
That's quite right Jerzy When I first came to the UK, I was living opposite a bus terminal and the horrid dirty smoke which billowed forth from there always made me feel that it was a combination of foods, the bus station/traffic on the busy road and change of envionment (Australia: clean, fresh air - England: dirty, smog filled air) which brought on the hives.
