We switched to Remicade after my GI recommended it for Crohn's. My hair is coming back in (curly -- my hairdresser says). The acne is gone. But my fingernails are trashed. Some of them peel down way below the line -- the others just won't grow out. I guess I can live with that side-effect, but of course, I want to have none at all. dd **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
Anyone? Trying to figure out if this is what is the cause of my frequent trips to the bathroom..... It has gotten worse over the past month and even Imodium is not helping. I am going to see my family doctor today to see if perhaps I have picked up a virus but my symptoms pretty much have me convinced it is the Arava. I dose every other day and well... I have diarrhea on the day AFTER I dose.... Hmmmmm...... *~ Kami ~*

Guest guest
Diane, My rheumy said if I had diarrhea with the Arava to stop immediately because it would not get any better and possibly get worse. I also had hair loss with both the MTX and the arava, so I see a dermatologist and get steroid shots in my scalp for hair regrowth, which works. The MTX gave me loose bowels, but nothing I couldn't live with. The pills were worse than the injections. I may go back to MTX. I am stopping Arava because I think (though my rheumy disagrees) that it was shooting my blood pressure up. My rheymy thinks it is the Cymbalta. My regular MD agrees with me and thinks it is the Arava and the prednisone. They (the two docs) are having a phone meeting later this week to determine the next course of action. _ Happy St. Patty's Day and many spoons to us all! _._,_.___ * 24 Internal Virus Database is out of date. Guest guest
kelly...I am glad your getting some answers from one of your docters that it is the arava...I have heard of it causing high blood pressure...i work on psych floor, i haved never heard of cymbalta causing high bp...you know if you stop the aarava and comes down,he knwo the arava was the coperate(sp).. my rheumy when I starrted having the d word, immediatly said it was the arava...so, when he told me to decrease the dose, he said not to wait to call if the d persisted..so, when called he wanted to decrease it again..I was thinking to myself how much more can you decrease..because when he decresed the arava the first time I flared...so. I decided to try the mtx again but in shot form..it took like a month for the d to totally go away..now I just had my 7 shot of the mtx and every week the nausea and stomach pains our getting better.. It has taken me 10 months to get wgere I am now.. diane in ohio
