Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is an oxidizer commonly used as a bleach. It is the

simplest peroxide (a compound with an oxygen-oxygen single bond). Hydrogen

peroxide is a clear liquid, slightly more viscous than water, that appears

colorless in dilute solution. It is used as a disinfectant, antiseptic,

oxidizer, and in rocketry as a propellant.[2] The oxidizing capacity of hydrogen

peroxide is so strong that it is considered a highly reactive oxygen species.

Hydrogen peroxide is naturally produced in organisms as a by-product of

oxidative metabolism. Nearly all living things (specifically, all obligate and

facultative aerobes) possess enzymes known as peroxidases, which harmlessly and

catalytically decompose low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide to water and

oxygen.

I like mms/sodium chlorite better as an oxidizer versus hydrogen peroxide.

MMS is more targeted to pathogens and less harmful to healthy

tissues than peroxide which is more indiscriminate and can

oxidize healthy tissue and cause injury so it limits the amount

you can take which limits the amount of pathogen killing ability.

MMS does this by having some sort of attraction and preference to

seek out pathogens and destroy them.

Yes, I tried this technique (hydrodgen peroxide in the ears for a few minutes

then drain) a couple months ago at the start of a cold and it did seem that

about 18 hours later the cold was just about over. Usually my colds linger. I

will use it again in the future if/when I feel a cold coming on.

I have tried the H2O2 in the ear treatment with little success. Perhaps

it is because I was using old stock. Anyone else try this preventative

when you are coming down with a cold?
