Guest guest
Hi Jim, Sorry I took so long to answer this, I really got my self upset and this is the first time I've logged on since. No one but a true bird lover could understand how affectionate and smart they are. Mine were so spoiled, it was like having 3, 2year olds. I loved every minute if that experience. One day I'll post some pic's and maybe you can do the same. About feeling better immediately, I can attest to that. I was in the hospital for 2 day and feeling better, so I came home. I stayed out of the bird room without a mask and then only for a few minutes at a time. I was on my 02 already, 24/7 and I was obeying orders (sort of), but within three days, I was so bad I was sent right back to hospital and spent 8 days. My daughter boarded the birds and completely cleaned the house and washed all the curtains and drapes. I have not coughed or had to go back since. I was on Adair and Prednisone till I found my new Pulmonologist. Went for a second opinion and fell in love. He took me off the AdVair and cut the pred down to 2.5 mg. He will take me off all if it next visit. He wanted to be sure I felt the same. I do, so it really is sad if this all started because I rescued my babies!!!! You know what, I still don't think I'd give back that experience. Sounds crazy, but they brought me so much joy. I'm not on anythings else and from all that I've heard, there really isn't much they can do at this point. Stay well and keep in touch, Terry james wallman wrote: I should have mentioned............the part about "my health improving almost immediately"......sounds like I attribute that to giving up the bird. Well, if there is one thing I know it is "I know nothing". My improvement could have been the meds, it could have been the natural course of my disease. it could have been global warming, it could have been that the moon was aligned with Uranus, it could have been the result of dozens of people praying for me. Whatever did it.........I'll take it, thank you very much. jim IPF 05 alaska <gina.francisbigpond> wrote: A.J. not you too! I'm HEARING you all..just not ACTING on it yet! Guest guest
Terry One thing we know is we don't know. Don't let how it might or might not have started get to you. If it did somehow start from an act of love and caring then I'd take that as opposed to so many other ways. At least there would be something worth it. I went down the list of possible causes right after diagnosis and I could check off almost every one. The reality is no one knows and for me personally I don't care how mine started. Now, I do care because if we could understand perhaps it would help others in the future. I love all living things and the fact that so many of you love birds so much tells me a lot about each of you. I've been more into cats and dogs but my mother always kept at least one bird around. Of course she even had a pet rooster that followed her around just like a puppy. > > I don't know how this e-mail I just read started, or who it was about, I'm crying too hard.I just had to give up my babies,2 Amazons and a Grey.
