AFAIK, malt vinegar is the only one that's technically off-limits for

BBD (barley). As others have posted, though, that doesn't mean you

personally won't have problems with it. I'm fine with balsamic

vinegar, but haven't used apple cider vinegar myself.

Also, potatoes are BBD-compliant. However, many on BBD have opted to

eliminate the nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant) and

noted improvement. I've resisted eliminating more stuff, but finally

decided to cut way back (love tomatoes and peppers, occasionally

potatoes). Now I've had potatoes the last couple days so I will see

if it makes a difference. ;)

HTH!

All vinegars are OK on the BBD except malt vinegar (gluten).

Potatoes are OK too but as a nightshade family vegetable shouldn't be eaten all

the time.

I was curious if vinegar is allowed on the BBD--as in oil and vinegar on salad.

I am also not sure if potatos are allowed. Can anyone advise on this. Also,

someone mentioned they order grilled chicken at restaurants. I do too, but I am

aware that grilled increases carcinogens, and so I may start asking for baked if

they can accommodate that.Truly, I don't trust any restaurants, even if they say

they don't use a particular ingredient, we are still at the mercy of what they

say and are not there to watch.>> Hi Aviva,> > When I add vinegar to olive oil

for a salad dressing, I get shooting pains down the back of my right leg. That

includes expensive organic apple cider vinegar. Any type is going to be 95%

acetic acid and, in my opinion
