CRP higher

Hi...I have been on Humira and Mtx injections for about 7 or 8 years with good

results.  In the last few months the inflammation markers have risen quite a

bit.  The SED is only 40 (compared with 20 a year ago) but the CRP is 7.2

compared with < 1 a year ago.  These rates first appeared high about 6 months

ago and are staying up there. I just had my right knee drained  (and SynviscOne

treatment) and the rheummy said the fluid looked off so he sent it for a culture

and I haven't heard yet.  Does anyone else have this same inflammatory marker

high?  Has anything helped?  My pcp isn't happy with it but is deferring to

rheumy.

Thanks...

Cheryle, in Oregon (aka Tess)

I'm sorry that I can't help you, Tess. The CRP is what my rheumy uses

to monitor my RA, and it's been under 0.5 for a long time. Apparently

the Humira and Mtx are not working well enough for you. Has your

rheumy discussed any other biologics, such as Orencia?
