Strange Pain in Hand

Since I've had RA, I've had pain in my knees and shoulders and have had

cortisone shots in all of them. The latest pain is in my right hand. It's not

like joint pain, which I feel when using my hand. It's like a shooting pain

-- most commonly shooting out the end of my thumb. More like nerve pain.

And occasionally in some other finger joints.

Does any of you experience pain in your hands like that? Is there a name

for it?
