Guest guest
I would just like to add a different viewpoint to this thread -- the people in the biologic commercials are real. I have a really good friend with RA who is in the TV and print ads for Rituxan. I am working with Centocor to appear in ads for Remicade, which I have been on for 9.5 of the 10 years that I have had RA. I know that the commercials are hard to see when you have tried all of the meds and nothing has worked. When one of those Tylenol Arthritis commercials comes on TV, my husband yells " You have fake arthritis! " (even though I have tried to explain that OA is real). One of the reasons I have worked with Centocor is to let people, especially newly dx'd patients, know that the biologics are available and work best if taken early. I found out about the biologics from the Arthritis Today magazine, not from my rheumy.
