Guest guest
Hi Yvette, I have tested as having antibodies/been exposed to EBV. I do not recall ever having an episode that was diagnosed as mono, but I recall my sister had mono when we were teens, so maybe I got the exposure then. In any case, I was tested for EBV with a regular blood test several months ago because I was experiencing an increased episode of fatigue. It was at that time my EBV level showed I had been exposed. I was told the diagnosis of mono is based both on clinical symptoms (such as fatigue) and the number for which the EBV antibody level is elevated. In my case, one doc said I had mono, and the other said I didn't. Just wanted to pass along me experience. Hope this episode passes quickly for you.
