Guest guest
Mine was a blockage in my left jugular, 60-65% lying down and a massive 100% sitting. My body had found a partial way around it. It was great to actually see it on the venogram before and after ballooning. Blood disappearing one end and not coming out the other, then spurting forth like it is supposed to. I did not have a stent and at the moment if I re-stenosed I would go for angio again until specific stents are made for veins rather than arteries. The only problems that have occurred have all been with stents (the initial one that slipped and required surgery but the patient was OK, the recent Canadian who died when problems occurred a long time after his stent placement and the Canadian authorities refused to help him so he had to return to Costa Rica). One person at the beginning of all this had a reaction to the blood thinners and died. Her family were at pains to point out that it was not the treatment per se that gave her problems. I only list these as there seems to be a lot of fear-mongering going on about the CCSVI treatment and I want to set straight the fact that these are the only 3 bad incidents I have heard about amongst the what must be now about 7000 people who have had this. I'll keep my fingers (and legs ) crossed for you Mike on 3rd. You will have a great Christmas! Janet To: mscured From: mmacchiarella@... Can you tell us again what your blockage entailed and how it was corrected. ((angio or stenting) -M
