Guest guest
I hope many of you are not turned off by Oprah. Sometimes her stuff bugs me, but sometimes it meets me right where I am. No matter where you sit with Oprah, her June Magazine has some great articles of women that have learned to overcome negative body messages from family and society and learned to love and accept themselves just the way they are. In Oprah's article " What I Know For Sure " she talks about how for years she has wasted so much time worrying about her weight and hating herself being fat, wanting to be thin, feeling guilty for eating a bunch of croissants, then giving them up, then fasting, dieting and eating everything she wanted over the weekend or holiday just to start the starving all over again (sound familiar?) In the very end of the article she says " You're not your body, and for you're not your body image " . Anyway, it's a good edition of her magazine. check it out! Side note: I have to question though, why then does she promote dieting and her trainer Bob Greene's new book and diet plan? Go figure! Condratictory I must say!
