Guest guest
Well, my surgery (4/5/06) went great and I'm back home now... AND FEELING FANTASTIC!!!!! You know, the first night was pretty rough, but I've seen improvements each day since. I'm eating frequently ( " grazing " hehe)- just small amounts though, like a quarter-teaspoon at a time- and have a high amount of energy. So far, nothing I've eaten has disagreed with me. Also, I had my first post-op appointment yesterday and have lost 10 pounds already! That's 10 POUNDS in six days! WOW. The drain wasn't my favorite thing, but it didn't hurt coming out and it feels SO GOOD to sleep without having to reposition it every time I move. I've already started vitamins- 2 Centrum chewables w/iron a day. Plus my Dr. wants me to stay on Protonix long-term to prevent ulcers. And in a couple weeks I'll start a B-complex, 1X a day. I was told the surgery went beautifully and that I'm doing a great job of recovering. Oh, I'm SO EXCITED!!!!!!! I have a new lease on life!!! Oh! I also wanted to share this... when I saw my doctor yesterday, he said he wants me to start focusing on exercise (as soon as I'm recovered). He said " But I don't mean going to the gym and walking on the treadmill for an hour. I want you to try new things, do things that are FUN! Try a yoga class... join a bike club... go for a brisk walk with your family in the evenings. I don't want you to exercise because you HAVE to... I want you to fall in love with exercise! A whole new world is opening up, so enjoy it... don't hold back! " Pretty cute, huh? ) Anyhow, I wanted to drop in and say hi! Take care, Susie B Lap RNY 4/5/06 Highest 300/Current 260/Goal 150-ish
