Guest guest
We all seem to be searching for the right cocktail to make our pain go away and make us feel like we did at one time. sorry to be a doubting downer but once being diagnosed with RA your life and those around you will never be the same. there is no perfect cocktail especially with the drugs medical doctors prescribe. None will ever make us feel the way we once knew. So do we take more or less, do we mix and match arava with methotrexate, or prednisone with Humira, or cortisone with Enbrel, or this with that...and still wish we felt better. Yep....that's RA. I've been told that I should not drink while being on most of these meds, but on some of my worst days, I must confess, not many things could stop me from closely finishing a twelve pack. I believed, and some times still do, that if I wanted a good night's sleep, beer could make it happen. So long as to not put anyone elses lives in danger. Sometimes a nice big bottle of wine at the back table or at a bonefire....I'm not proud of it, but it happens. Something else that has happened...I strongly believe in the benefits of mj...not proud of that either...but if I had the choice of a any prescription med or a couple puffs of smoke...i choose smoke...even before alcohol. I gave up smoking it for a little over a month. I feel better with it than without it. I am in less pain, I get better sleep, and I get more chores and things done. Before being diagnosed with RA, i never smoked, drank maybe a dozen times a year, and was a very active person. I don't know, has RA made me an alcoholic and a dope addict. I try not to believe so but even if I am, it seems better to me than the side effects of prescription drugs in comparison. Take care everyone, and I hope I didn't offend anyone. Thanks for the opportunity to vent. (musiclvr3237)
