Questioning EAE as the accepted animal model of MS

I've often wondered why the researchers all seem to believe that EAE is a useful

and accurate model of human MS, and have based all their drug research on it,

such as for the CRAB drugs.....so it's nice to see an academic now that

disagrees with the whole model.

Excerpt: " The [animal] model of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis

(EAE)...is produced in the animals and it is inferred that what happens in the

animal's body and brain is similar to what is happening in the brain of the

patient with multiple sclerosis. In our paper we set about to show that this is

totally bogus and indeed have proved scientifically that there is no evidence

whatsoever that the animal model of EAE is a true model for multiple sclerosis.

Suffice to say that in our paper I have asked for proof of one patient in the

whole world who has been helped or cured of multiple sclerosis as a result of

this animal research. "

No wonder that none of those drugs are helpful at a level above placebo!

BTW, I found this article by way of CCSVI Locator, an extremely useful site in

case any of you are not familiar with it.
