Guest guest
You may want to check your hematacrit. I know your prednisone doses. Please check you are not developing ulcers or GI bleed....I started with many vague symptoms. god Bless... Raniolo From: Dennis W <betnden@...> Subject: [ ] Need a diagnosis " " < > Date: Sunday, March 22, 2009, 10:55 PM I've been struggling with this problem for too long and am getting little help from doctors. I've mentioned in passing in some of my posts that I'm having terrible pains in my entire intestinal area. Sometimes it hurts so bad that I can't sleep or anything else. I've quit taking any meds except the ones I really need, not just the ones that might affect it. This afternoon after welding and crafting parts for the chair lift and my intestines were behaving themselves, I closed up and came in the house. My guts started grumbling a little, then got louder and painful. Now it feels like I'm having labor pains. There's no fever or other evidence of anything sinister, no nausea or gas building or discharging at all, no relief from antacids, no change from drinking water or eating, etc, but it does feel like I have the San s fault in here. Who has an idea of what I can do to fix it? I'm almost ready to do anything! -- Dennis in eastexas
Guest guest
Why not go to a gastroenterologist? That's his business to know such things or at least try to find out the reason for the pains. We know it cannot be labor pains, so other things should be explored. Guest guest
if it gets to unbareable I would goto the ER. They might be able to do some type of specialized test, MRI or scan to see if there is something there causing the issue that your doctor may not have thought of. I know that you are financially strapped because of having limited insurance but I know some hospitals in my area who have financial programs and work on a sliding scale to help out those in need. in land [ ] Need a diagnosis I've been struggling with this problem for too long and am getting little help from doctors. Guest guest
Yes, . I didn't even think of ulcers and GI bleed. When I had my bleeding ulcer, my stomach didn't even hurt. I would feel a little stomach discomfort. But many people with ulcers have very bad pain. Sue On Mar 22, 2009, at 11:10 PM, CATHERINE RANIOLO wrote: > You may want to check your hematacrit. Guest guest
I just thought of something else I'm trying. For a couple or 3 months I've been taking my MTX in my stomach because it's convenient to do. I've never had any problems with it but just in case, I put the shot in my leg. This shows the lengths I've gone to with no results. Blood tests so far are negative, chest x-rays are clear. I'm still trying. Guest guest
Hi Dennis: Just a thought. Have you ever tried eating every 2 hours, instead of 3 meals a day, etc.? Also, do you drink/eat a lot of dairy? I suffered for over 12 years with Ulcerative Colitis, plus Chrons disease. Thank God, I don't have that problem anymore. It took all those years to get it under controll, etc. I was so sorry to read that you are suffering with such abdominal distress. I hate when we have to do trial and error, and then, nothing helps. I so hope you can get some relief from all your pain and suffering. I care. hugs, Barbara > > > if it gets to unbareable I would goto the ER. Guest guest
I think I came up with the answer during the night. The pain woke me at 2:00am and I had lots of time to think about it. At about 4:00am it dawned on me that it could be welding fume poison. I got up and headed to the fridge for some plain old milk. I drank about a glassful and went back to bed. The pain subsided within the next half hour and has been mostly quiet so far today. In the past, I would get bad indigestion from welding but never pains like this. Then again, I am now using GMAW instead of MMAW so the fumes are different. The project was to modify the chair lift on back of the van so the gate could be opened. I modified the hitch to accept another pivot and allow the entire lift to swing to the side. As it is now, the entire van is wasted because we can only reach in from the side doors and not into the rear of it. I'll try to find someone to finish it for me, and I'll stay in the 'fresh' air while it's being done. lol Thanks for all the help.
