Meg you are so right gold star for you! I have discovered the same thing I am more hungry at lunch on the days I do my work out then I am at dinner and Breakfast. I think it is because I have expended energy so my bbody needs more fuel. On Friday which is the day I don't work out then my hunger at lunch time isn't so intense. You are right though it doesn't matter what time it is when you are hungry just as long as you honor your hunger. Eva

I have noticed that I also tend to eat more in the evenings (not at work), than during the day. I've been thinking about it for a while and this is what I've come up with: One of the first diets I made up myself when I was about 15 consisted of not eating anything but dinner. I didn't last one day, but it's been sort of a habit ever since. When I counted calories, I would starve all day, then eat all the calories (plus) in the evening when I got home, when no one was looking. I can't sleep if I am hungry, so if I eat my one daily ration at night, I can sleep. Now, I am honoring my hunger during the day, but it doesn't take as much to satisfy me in daytime. I'll eat sometimes twice as much in the evening in order to feel the same satisfaction feeling as daytime meals. Then again, I don't do much at work (desk job), but at night, I have 5 dogs and a horse, a house and yard, barn, paddock and dog lots, yard, fence, grass, etc. that I have to keep up by myself. Not to mention dog and horse training, which takes from 1 hour on an easy evening to 4 hours on a hard working evening. So basically I've come up with this: First, I think I need more energy in the evening than during the day, and my body knows this. Second, my body may need some time to rebalance eating patterns, since they've been so screwed up for so long. The bottom line I have come up with is this: Don't worry about it. Maybe that's just how I am made. As long as I am honoring hunger and satisfaction, why does it matter if I am hungry at 3am and not at 12 noon? I yam what I yam ;):)MegIEing since 2/08 ------------------------------------

That is a marvelous success post Meg! Such insights are so valuable

and valid too. I'd say you have reason to eat in the evenings - all

you do with your animals and yard - what a 'work out'!
