Hi Arnie,

I head about intuitive eating through a nutritionist. I went to her for counseling and she recommended the book. I was telling someone else about it and decided to see if they had a website. I thought some additional support would be helpful so I signed up for the listserv.

Since there has been so many newbies (including me) here, it makes me

curious. How did you hear about Intuitive Eating and how did you find

this group?

I first heard about IE a few years ago, but couldn't find much on the

internet about it back then. There was a Yahoo group with only about

three regulars posting. At that time I read about half of Tribole and

Resch's book. I just used IE as an excuse to quit the diet I was on,

but never gave IE a real try.

I was back on that same diet for the past few months and when I started

getting sick of eating no-fat cottage cheese ad nauseum, I remembered

IE, so I came back to yahoo groups and found this wonderful group.

I found IE after reading an article on Katharine McPhee in People magazine...right about 2 years from now! I thought that sounds like a better way to lose weight and ordered the book. I also suspected I had an eatign disorder after a summer on WW and binging any chance I got. I didn't find this group until sometime around March 2007. It was listed in the resources page on the Intuitive Eating authors website.

There have been a lot of newbies lately...I'm curious to see how they found us too!

I think I first heard if Inutitive Eating on Sparkpeople.com a

dieting site. Someone had blogged about it and I did some research

and actually came across the AmIHungry.com workshops. I first

attended a 1hr teleclass on " Chocolate Deosn't Make You Fat " .

Gillian who is our moderator here was on that call and I immediately

enrolled for her teleclass a year ago in June. Through her I

learned of this group.

Hi, I've been in a long time battle for weight loss but not through

dieting. I have always thought it was best to eat with awareness and

change my lifestyle and habits. I am still staggering at the

beginning of the road but creep slowly towards by goals. I found this

group while keying different search words. I have vaguely heard of

intuitive eating before. I joined to chat and find out more. I'm all

ears (and eyes) y'all and thanks to letting me in your group. Best of

thoughts and very smiley, Tannis

Hi! I knew I needed to do something and didn't want to attempt South

Beach again! I had done Thin Within several years back and lost some

weight, so I did a yahoo search for a TW group (there is one). But I

came across this one in my search, and was drawn to the messages I

read, so I joined. Glad I did!

I was searching innate living sites because I knew there had to be

another way to deal with my eating other than what I had before me for

so many years. After days of searching innate living I came across a

link for IE, which then lead me to the yahoo group. If only I had

found it years earlier!
