Guest guest
Hi, My name is Vicki. I've struggled with my weight and body image for over 30 years. I've been extremely heavy (249-1/2) and extremely thin (117) and I'm 5'9 " tall. Now after going into full menopause I find myself almost where I started all those years ago (227 as of this morning). But you know what; it's time to move on and find other things to think about beyond what the almighty scale says. I've struggled my whole adult life to keep my weight down and every time I've gone off the diet and started back eating in a more normal manner the weight has come back and even added more weight to me. I have to believe it's not healthy to go back and forth in this manner. Besides messing up the metabolism, it plays hell with your other organs including the heart. I think it's better to stay at a steady weight even if it's at a higher weight than I ever wanted to be. Not every person is meant to be thin. I feel it's time to accept I'm a bigger woman than I personally want to be but hopefully over time I'll be a healthier one than when doing all the dieting. Guest guest
Welcome Vicki. One of the things I so like about IE is that one never fails at it, you can continue with practicing it any time you want and in the way that is comfortable for you too. I agree with what you said about dieting being more harmful than (so-called in many cases) over weight. Good for you coming to this realization and I think you are back on your IE journey in a very good way. Best to you - Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > > Hi, My name is Vicki.
