Guest guest
While at the ER last night with my hubby...he pulled a muscle in his back lifting weights knowing his back was hurting before he started. The nurse we had told us she has MS and her sister has RA. She told me how the Gluten Free diet has worked for them. She told me that they do a lot of holistic treatment and they are feeling so much better. What I really want to know....she said her sister found a study saying if you have RA or any type of an auto immune disease that the persons children are 70% or up to 70% chance of getting an auto immune disease. Has anyone heard of this study? Cheli Sent from my Verizon Wireless Phone
Guest guest
Cheli, False. It is absolutely not true that your children have a 70% chance of developing an autoimmune disease. Forget you ever heard that. Even in identical twins the concordance rate - the percentage of cases where both twins have RA - is only in the neighborhood of 15%. Guest guest
Ok. I heard that and I was shocked. Do you know if there has been any studies done with JRA and the likely hood of getting RA as an adult? I have been told there was none but I thought I would ask the study queen: you!
