Thank you for getting back to me. I gave it some thought about taking it at

night but it only takes a few minutes for it to get into my system and I'm

afraid that the terrible shakiness, upset stomach, and the dreaded insomnia

will kick in before I get a chance to fall asleep and I will be right back

where I was. I guess you and I are the only ones who don't handle folic acid

well because you are the only one I have heard back from. Thank you again. I

am hoping my rheumy will have an alternate for me to take or maybe suggest

foods that contain folic acid.

My body didn't like Folic Acid to much. I was able to take it still but only

at night. I felt sick to my stomach if I took it during the day. I can't

take multivitamins. Every time I try I get so sick to my stomach by the 3rd

day I'm off of them. Vitamin D pills I have to take at night. I take one a

week. So basically I would say I don't do good on these but I have been able

to take these pills to some degree. Sorry I'm not much help but I wanted to

give you what I felt.

Shay, I found a couple of sites that have lists of foods with folic

acid:

http://www.wheatfoods.org/AboutWheat-list-of-foods-with-folic-acid/Index.htm

http://pediatrics.about.com/od/nutrition/a/908_folate_food.htm

Hope this helps, Sue

I understand about taking it at night. I have been off of MTX and folic acid for

about a month now and I feel much better. When I got of the MTX I still took the

folic acid for a week just to make sure I had some in me. The day I stopped I

felt better. I was up to 4-5 a day to fight off the side effects of MTX. I wish

there was more I can say to help with the side effects you are feeling from it.

I hope the doc has something to say. Let me know if you find out anything. How

many are you taking a day? Do you get side effects from vitamins like I do? Did

you read the post about getting folic acid in the form of food?

Thank you for this. I do find if I eat some of these things in a more than

recommend (over indulged) I do feel sick. Ha ha ha it could be the food and a

really full tummy but I also wonder if folic acid is to blame also. Lol.

I fear there is much I miss.  I do not know I am taking mtx until I forget to

take the folic acid and get nose sores.

If this message has no subject, it is very likely that was somehow

breached and sent without my knowledge.  It has happened to me numerous times

so

far. I have contacted and been given advice that has stopped the unwanted

spam messages from being sent by this address.  Unsolicited  messages should

have  stopped. However, if you get such a message please let me know.

Thanks.
