Still Kind of New-Pain and Swelling

Ok, I am still kind of new to this group, but I read everyday. I won't be in to

see the rheumatologist until May 11th, although I am on the list to call if I

can get in sooner. It is more than likely RA, as I was diagnosed JRA as a teen.

(Been symptom free until last year for about 3 years.) In any case, I have had

a lot of pain and swelling lately even on an NSAID. I can't wear my wedding

ring because it won't go on in the morning and if I can get it on half-way

through the day, it won't come off at night. I swell a whole lot over night.

Anyhow, between the swelling and the daily pain, I am at a loss as to what I

should do. My PCP won't prescribe anything but an NSAID. Is there anything

else I can do to help with the pain and swelling? I can't wait for my rhuemy

appointment, May can't get here fast enough. Any ideas, please let me know.
