Guest guest
I was reading the the decription of this drug yesterday and it is for treatment of alcohol and herion addiction. How does this help build the immune system?? I noticed it had minimal side effects also. My cancer is in remission but I would still like to boost my immune system as much as possible to prevent recurrence of the cancer. Method 2 is far cheaper than method 1 for someone like myself. Each dissolved tablet yields 11 nightly doses. In either case you need a prescription. If you wish to know details about number 2 method, let me know. Elliot
Guest guest
Hi, Al. It is the LOW dose that does it. That LOW dose somehow tweaks/improves the immune system. When taken for drug abuse the dosage is very different. If you search under low-dose naltrexone or, I think, go to www.low dose naltrexone.com you can read about it in detail if you wish. The original use for LDN was for drug addiction but Dr. Bihari found that the drug was useful for numerous afflictions. There is an impressive clinical trial now using LDN for MS. Anyone on the LDN list understands how successful LDN is for MS but science wants proof and this trial is giving it to them. ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
Guest guest
hi david---- i've been on ldn (low dose naltrexone) for a year and a half. i do take many, many supplements in addition to the ldn and have been getting high dose vitamin C IV's + alpha lipoic acid + glutathion + autohemo therapy. i also did a series of 10 blood irradiations (with uv light). basically my cll has not progressed very much since i have been diagnosed, slight decline in my platelets (from 150 to 127 last test) + hemoglobin. i also have 11q but seem to be stable. i'm not giving up my ldn. it also gives one a slight boost in seratonin so it is a very mild anti- depressant and i feel better on it. i see two different onc/hemas (one is a second opinion). the first one is waiting for the other shoe to drop and is telling me she thinks i will need treatment within the next 3-6 months (this has been going on for six months now). the other says i've barely progressed since dx and doesn't think i will need tx for 10 years or so and would first tx with steroids. i like the second doc much better. : ). let me know if i can answer any other questions. best regards, lynn c. note: before the IV's, etc. i would have debilitating infections. since the alternative immune boosting treatments i only had a " normal " level cold, not the usual 104 fever or water in my ears for three weeks during which my hearing was impaired......though the sinus problems and eye dryness have not abated (take restasis + steroid nasal spray). Guest guest
Hi All, I came across this article today; http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/01/13/can-ldn-really-hel\ p-multiple-sclerosis-rheumatoid-arthritis-and-other-autoimmune-diseases.aspx And was wondering if anyone here has any experience w/this drug? Seems like it might hold a lot of promise. Sheryl
