Guest guest
Hi Ning, Phentermine is approved for three months of continuous use. Anything longer than that is considered to be off label use, as the medication was never tested for longer than a 3-month timeframe. --- Ning <ningwan@...> wrote: > Phentermine is approved for short-term treatment of > obesity. Guest guest
Hi Rhonda, Phentermine is one of the 'phens' of Fen-Phen, a diet drug that was killing people in the late '90s. If it were my daughters, I'd be keeping them as far away as possible from that drug. It's really dangerous. Not only that, but all drugs are toxic to the body so should not be taken. Check out what it says on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phentermine > > Hi Bee and all > I am very curious as to what anyone thinks of Phentermine as a diet > suppplement. > > Thank you, > Rhonda > > P.S. Guest guest
Hello everyone, I wish everyone a pain-free day. I saw my PCP a few days ago and I was telling him my frustration w/ trying to loose weight. I am eating healthy, going to the gym practically every day (I force myself to go even if I am having a mild flare). Gastric bypass is not an option (I wouldn't do it even if I was healthy. A friend of mine passed away from complications). He wanted to speak to my psych about giving me phentermine. It's half of phen-fen. He has mentioned that alot of his patients have positive results from the medication and have lost alot of weight and that it would be a good option for me. If I loose weight, it would not only help with my self-estem it might help w/ my hernia. I am excited to try it, I was wondering if anyone has tried it. I forget the name of the OTC medication that was taken off the market a few years ago...I remember taking it and it helped soo much with fighting the chronic fatgiue when I was 1st diagnosed w/ RA and fibromyalgia. I take provigil now, but it's soo expensive. I hope that my psych will allow me to try phentermine; if any of my current medications need an adjustment I will change it. Has anyone tried phentermine and if so, how did you feel, did you have any side effects and if you lost weight?
Guest guest
Hi - I tried Phentermine (Adipex-P)a while back, but had to stop as it caused me to have heart palpitations. I was also told by the doctor that long-term use is not recommended as it can cause heart problems. My grandson's father took it for way too long and ended up with heart damage - he's only 31. On the flip side, I've heard people have had good luck with it. So, whatever your psych decides, I wish you the best of luck. Have you considered not eating after 4pm? I have a hernia also - but not nearly as severe as yours - that has been giving me a fit lately. If I eat smaller meals and definitely not after 4pm, I'm not in as much pain and I've heard that some have been able to lose weight this way. I'm down 5 pounds, but not sure if that's from post-prednisone or eating differently. Time will tell. Best of luck to you.....Doreen Hello everyone, I wish everyone a pain-free day.
