Guest guest
I had two pretty bad sinus infections last year and I did ask my Rheumy about it in December. He told me it probably wasn't any of the meds, it was the RA itself. He said that RA tends to " dry out " different parts of the body. Some to a great degree, the eyes can be affected to a greater degree, but to a lower degree, other parts are affected whether we realize it or not and that includes the mouth and sinus areas. He told me this constant dryness makes people with RA more prone to sinus infection. He suggested I have more humidity in the air I breathe on a regular basis, like a humidifier in my home or in my bedroom. I haven't done this as yet, but I thought I'd share my Rheumy's comments.
