Guest guest
Hi , During the first six months after explant, I had alot of episodes where all of the symptoms would return. After that it gradually became less frequent - I still have some days where things flare up, but not as often and not as bad. I especially noticed if I came in contact with household cleaning products I'd feel really bad for a few days after. I also would feel poorly when I had my hair highlighted. Guest guest
Hi Tawny: So sorry you got stung by a bee. Those stings can be terrible, even days after. I knew you were so excited to go out and do some yard work. Maybe you did too much yard work after being down for a long time. I sure hope it is not a flare returning. Are your pain meds. helping at all? I am wishing for you to feel better soon. Maybe resting good, and taking pain meds. will soon help you feel better. I pray that for you. Always in my thoughts and prayers. Get well soon. Hugs, Barbara > > > Hi RA friends, > > I was doing a little yard work Saturday, and got stung by a bee. Guest guest
Tawny - please make sure that the stinger is out from the sting. I was stung not long ago - and gees! I haven't been stung in 30+ yrs. I had put some neosporin on it and put a band-aid over it 'cause I really didn't know what else to do. Several days later, I noticed something black in the middle - which scared the crap out of me. I finally fessed up ( I didn't want to sound like a baby!! hehehe)Â and showed it to my hubby and he said the stinger was still in there! Sure enough - it hurt like hell to get it out but it healed immediately after we did that! And not sure where you live, but it's hotter than heck here in SC! You just can hardly breathe between the heat & humidy! Stay cool ! ltdavis_jrdavis@... It didn't bother me much, but now its really ugly. I see the doctor Tuesday, but probably there is nothing she can do for it. I've been having some pain too, not sure if its a flare. I did a little outside work, and of course the RA is showing its ugly self. I just seem to not be able to do much, without the pain starting. I'm having back, neck, and rib pain. Guest guest
Hi there--surprise, it's me!! Wish I could send you some of your cool weather. It is actually too cool today to go in the pool (it's about 67 right now) but I've been in 5 of the last 6 days. Are you allergic to bee stings? Our oldest grandson is now, after haviing been stung multiple times last summer and early this summer. He got stung on the foot a couple of weeks ago, and said his foot swelled up like a football. They can't afford to take him to the dr. for tests, but are able to get an epi-pen for next time he gets stung. Feel better, Judi > > > Hi RA friends, > > I was doing a little yard work Saturday, and got stung by a bee. It > didn't bother me much, but now its really ugly. Guest guest
Hi Judi, Wow, the weather sounds great your way, send me some cool air, please!!!! Can I visit, just kidding:) I'm glad to see you posting again, you were such a great inspiration to this group. You were so kind to me, when I first joined. It's been awhile, huh? I'm just happy where you can enjoy life again. I have noticed a change in your emails, just so lively. I wasn't allergic to bee stings, but who knows now. It seems like every year, my body changes. It is terrible. Where I got stung, it's very red, and about as big as a cell phone when you lay it flat on your skin. I know there isn't much that can be done about it. I'll let the doc know on Tuesday, see what her, " words of wisdom " might be. You take care, and hope your back for a long time. I've missed you on the group, we need you. Take care, your friend, Tawny > > Hi there--surprise, it's me!! > > Wish I could send you some of your cool weather. Guest guest
Barbara, I probably did too much work. You kow how it is, when your trying to get something done. No one likes to do real yard work, they like to ride on the lawn mower:( The pain meds are helping me. I'm relaxing the rest of the weekend. I had to go out yesterday, grocery shopping and paying bills. I went out at 5:00AM, finished the rest of the shopping. So, all done, yeah!! I was stung about two years ago, and it did bother me quite a bit. Nothing like this one though, hopefully it will go away soon. I'll let you know how the doc visit goes on Tuesday. You have a good weekend, Tawny > > > Hi Tawny: So sorry you got stung by a bee. Those stings can be > terrible, even days after. > > I knew you were so excited to go out and do some yard work. Guest guest
Aw, thanks Tawny! I guess I just felt that not having RA no one would understand why I was posting here. But I always remember all the good family members I met here. Have you tried ice on your bee sting? At least that might give you some relief. There are no guarantees with life--you just have to take what you can out of it, give what you're able to others, and try not to screw up too badly. Cheers! Guest guest
Hi , My hubby got the stinger out, right after it happened. It did itch quite a bit at first, but not anymore, thank goodness. It's very hot and humid here, almost unbearable right now. I try to do everything before daylight, if possible. Hope some cool air goes your way. But, if its like here, its not going to happen for quite awhile. Take care, and have a good weekend, Tawny --- In , <ltdavis_jrdavis@...> wrote: > > Tawny - please make sure that the stinger is out from the sting. I was stung not long ago - and gees! Guest guest
Judi, I knew you kind of felt this way. Everyone talking about RA, but your disease is not heard of that much. It helps others to learn more about it. New members come here for information, and one of them can be helped, and diagnosed with this disease. By you talking about your disease, can help so many. We all have chronic health problems, and pain we all have. Please don't feel like your the outsider of this group. Were all here for the same thing, and that is support, to make us get through each day. There are a lot of great new members here. I hope you kick off your shoes, and stay a long while, we need you. I have tried ice, it has helped a bit. It doesn't itch or burn like it did, so happy about that. You have a wonderful weekend, and know you are a genuine jewel, Tawny > > Aw, thanks Tawny! > > I guess I just felt that not having RA no one would understand why I was posting here.
