Hi All,

I am Vidya and posting in this group for the first time and I am 31 years old.

I am confused with what has been found so far with my diagnosis.

I was first diagnosed for Optical neuritis on Oct,2008.My Brain MRI with and

without contrast was taken and i

had one old lession in MRI without contrast and two small/active lesions on the

MRI with contrast.

My MRI was seen by 3 neuros. One of them was a MS Specialist from Stanford MS

clinic. My Neuro thinks it's most probably MS and the other two neuros(including

the stanford specialist) thiks it's CIS.(Clinically Isolated Syndrome).

I am planning to start Avonex in Jan 2009 but I am very confused whether to go

for medication or not.I have a four year old kid and want to have another kid

but this diagnosis has kind of scared me so badly that i put off my pregnancy

plans..I feel i should be fit enough to take care of my one kid atleast..I dont

know if i am doing the right thing..

The MS specialist think i dont have have MS and dont need any medication right

now though i am at a 40% risk of developing MS in future.

Can you all pls advice if I am doing the right thing and what i need to do?

I found this group very useful and informative in various fronts.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Vidya.
