Guest guest
JB,Good question. I've noticed that when I'm not hungry and want to eat I've started "thinking" about food versus when I'm truly hungry my stomach gurgles/growls, there's some heat around my stomach region, and I just "know" that I'm hungry. I've been practicing shifting my thoughts to other things and activities that I can do. I've created a list of fun or useful things that I can do besides eat and that has been really helpful. I also get an "antsy" feeling in my body that I have learned that I can shift with sleep or movement...walking...playing with a ball. It's awesome that you are aware that your need for conversation, comfort, and companionship contributes to you eating when not physically hungry and are working with that.
