Guest guest
MMMMM STEAK.......I should have been at your house, though I'm not suppose to eat that stuff. My husband and I are on the 'no fun diet' since we are tired of hearing each other whine about our big bellies. We both used to be extremely fit and active people and we've both gone to seed since the second baby two years ago (and my RA turned up). I am doing very well with Orencia. Even better since the gallbladder surgery--I can't believe how much that tiny organ caused me problems I didn't even realize. My only problem at the moment is an infected toe from walking and digestion problems due to no gallbladder. I have an ulcer, wouldn't cha know! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm not doing much today, just taking it easy. I have been taking a med for choesterol, and I am having reactions. Your suppose to take it at bedtime. Sometimes, I don't go right to bed, and that is when I notice it more. I get extremely hot, and my skin gets red, and itches like crazy. My pulse rate was racing so bad, it felt like the bed was moving. I've tried awhile with this stuff, but no more. I felt so bad last night, I was thinking about going to the hospital. Anywho, we had steak, mushrooms, and cottage cheese for supper. Now, it's almost tv time, " Big Brother. " I am a tv nut!!!!!! Some great movies to watch,...... Push,Knowing, the haunting in CT, awesome movies. Catch you all later, have a great day, Tawny ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
, I know what you mean, we splurge once a week. I have been trying to lose a little weight myself, and its so hard NOW. I didn't have that problem before, but not much activity for awhile, due to the great RA. I'm back to walking, its been rough, but I'm not going to give up. The gallbladder can cause lots of problems. I had mine taken out in 02, and it helped so much. I was at the point, I could hardly eat anything. I couldn't eat out, unless I was very close to the bathroom. I'm sorry you have an ulcer, are you on any NSAIDS? I have a big problem with NSAIDS, and I need to take something. I'm on mobic right now, which my doc told me that was a really calm one. Not for me, I'm on prevasaid to help with it, but its not working either. I've went off the mobic, which I have to after awhile. Now, I can't use my arm tonight, my elbow is very swollen. It happens quite often. I go back on the mobic, and it goes down a little. I just can't win. I'm glad the Orienca is working for you. You just take each day, and do the best you can, and enjoy. Be careful with that toe. Take care, Tawny > > MMMMM STEAK.......I should have been at your house, though I'm not suppose to eat that stuff. Guest guest
I have been here, reading mostly. Health has been on the downward side for a couple weeks. Saw my GP this morning. A few med changes but on my way up again anyways with some answers. As we all know Humira, MTX and Lyrica deplete out immune systems. What I was not aware of was that we can become very sick, in fact deathly ill, which was my case if we do not pay close attention to our bodies when we are on these meds. My body was not trying to fight off anything, no fever, no chills, no coughing, etc, which made it impossible for me to know I had sever pneumonia building up. Which is why I quit breathing and went into respiratory arrest. Both lungs were completed full of fluids. My GP told me today he really did not think he would be seeing me again when he life flighted me out to Sioux Falls. No breathing without being intubated, pupils fixed and dilated, etc. In a sense I was dead other than machines. I am writing this, not for attention, but to make all of my RA friends aware that although we desperately need these meds we need to pay close attention to our bodies and keep all scheduled appointments with our GPs and our Rheumy. There are times such as mine was, where our lives depend on it. Love Vicki Iowa
Guest guest
Bless your heart Vicki! I am so sorry that you went thru all of that! We all care about you and so very glad and grateful that you made it thru that nightmare! You are sooooo right that with all of these meds - we HAVE to watch out for ourselves to some degree. Although our docs are the experts and are depended upon to do all the watching, they too, are only human and let us - none of us forget, they PRACTICE medicine - they themselves do not know everything. Thank God you are doing better - I will keep you in my prayers! in SC From: Vicki <gramvick@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Where's everybody at?(OT) Date: Monday, August 3, 2009, 3:49 PM I have been here, reading mostly. Guest guest
Hi Vicki: I was so sorry to read about your very frightening experience. I am so glad you survived that nightmare. When I fell and broke my hip last year, and arrived at the E.R., they told me I had double pneumonia, I needed a blood transfusion, and was running a very high fever. All this, and had the hip replacement surgery 3 days later. I was so very tired, but had no idea how sick I was. It was quite a shock. I also had no idea my blood count was so low. I thought it was the tiredness from my R.A. I hope you are resting comfortably now, and on the road to a complete recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and wishing you many good days ahead. Take care. Hugs, Barbara > > > From: Vicki gramvick@... > Subject: Re: [ ] Where's everybody at?(OT) > > Date: Monday, August 3, 2009, 3:49 PM > > > > > > > I have been here, reading mostly. Guest guest
Vicki, This is really scary, when there are no signs. I'm glad you are still with us my dear. You have been through so much lately. You are here to speak out to other's about what you have been through. I believe were all here for a reason. All meds we need to be careful with. I've had so many problems with other meds, not the RA ones. They are all dangerous. We need them to keep going, but you are so right, we need to keep up with our appointments, and do the best we can. You start feeling better, and know I'm always here, Tawny > > I have been here, reading mostly. Health has been on the downward side for a couple weeks. Saw my GP this morning.
