struggling with diet mentality

Hi,

The last couple of days, I felt like I felt off wagon, which is an

expression I used when I was on diets. My dh is in vacation, we have

been eating all kinds of food that I usually don`t allow myself...but

mindlessly. In my head, eating mindlessly is breaking a rule...Or going

on a diet will be breaking a rule? I am very attracted to diets right

now. I feel out of control. I know it wouldn`t work and be even worse.

Anybody felt like this? Thanks for listening.

You bet I've felt like that Nat! I have found that my IE journey has

things like detours and going in the 'wrong' direction. But I can and

have gotten 'back on track' too.

Interesting in that breaks in our daily routines can and do cause us

to get off balance with this new practice for us. Lately I've been 'on

vacation' with eating due to having guests. My first thought and

response is " I've failed " . But I've also given myself the gift of time

and patience (with myself) to immediately counter that negative

reaction with - " No, there is no 'failure' with IE, I only need to

start doing IE practices once again. "

So be gentle and patient with yourself, knowing that even 'thin'

people do overeat at times too!
