Hi all again,

Since I'm going on MTX again, I'm worried about getting chest pains like I did

last time I took it. I don't even know what that are and my docs didn't have a

clue and didn't seem interested. The pain went right up my windpipe too and I

felt ghastly. I assume it's some sort of inflammation of the pleural cavity

caused by MTX ? Anyone else get that sort of thing ? I know it affects the lung

area. My doc hit with me a too higher dose of MTX initially, so maybe that

caused it - I'm going to start on half a dose and see how it goes.

I'm still recovering from my knee replacement operation I had 6 weeks ago and am

on some strong narcotic painkillers which knock me around. The operation is

what flared my RA badly - I kinda thought joint replacements was an answer for

me, but not if my body goes nuts after. Before the op, my RA was hanging around

but not as bad. Anyone despite getting joints replaced, it doesn't make the

disease go away, which probably isn't a good thing cos it's got to go somewhere

else !

Has anyone else had joint replacements ?

best,

Leonie

Hi Leonie:

I have been on MTX injections for 5 years now, and no reactions at all.

I could not tolerate the MTX pills, as they made me so sick to my

stomach 24 hrs. each and everyday.

Yes, I have had a total hip replacement, and a total knee replacement.

I am getting ready to have my other knee totally replaced as soon as

possible. I have had great recovery, and great success with both.

Wishing you pain free days ahead. I wish you good luck when you

re-start your MTX again.

Hugs,

Barbara
