Hi , I had to stop the arava....but the main reason was that I was

losing my hair...it was thinning so badly. the platelets went all the way down

to 110 and my rheumy said he wouldn't be concerned till it hit 100. It

hovered about 112- 114. It didn't take long for the platelets to rise. I

think my next bloodtest, they were at 120...3 months later maybe. I also take

enbrel.

Hope this helps..paula

,

Methotrexate had already caused a decrease in my white blood cell

count. My rheumy added Arava, but the decline just continued. It

finally got to 2.2, with the reference range 4.0-10.5

It took a year and a half for mine to get back into the low normal

range. It still stays low normal, in the 4's and occasionally the 5's.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a, I stopped the med and will probably have to get on something else.

Just didn't know how long it takes to increase. Does the Enbrel make your counts

low at all?

Thanks Sue, I hope it doesn't take that long for mine to come up. Mine is 2.1

right now. I have too many kids to risk getting me sick. Just wondering what we

will do next.
