Hi everyone! I just wanted to share some good news from my sister's first PET

scan since starting chemo in January. The tumors are shrinking and we are so

glad. Her blog is http://curingbridget.blogspot.com if you'd like to learn more

about our journey, see pictures, etc. Here are the highlights from the

radiologist's report:

PET findings: There is marked response of Hodgkin's disease to therapy.

The bulky and hypermetabolic lymphadenopathy which was demonstrated in

the neck and chest on 12/31/08 is much smaller and there is no

appreciable FDG accumulation within the prominent to mildly enlarged

lymph nodes which remain. On today's examination there is diffuse

moderate uptake of radiotracer within bone in a distribution

corresponding to red marrow which represents response of red marrow to

chemotherapy. The distribution of FDG is otherwise physiologic.

Impression:

Excellent response of Hodgkin's disease to therapy. No appreciable FDG

accumulation within the remaining mildly enlarged lymph nodes in the

neck and chest.

Hooray! Kate F.
