Guest guest
I am not sure about having no gag relfex, I have not been tested. I know that I can be eating and realize that there is a piece of food in the back, back of my throat and I am not chocking because of it. If I swallow again it goes the rest of the way down. I tried to show my husband how far back it was and he could not see it at all. Needless to say our 2 year old thinks it is okay to show daddy her throat while she is eating now =) Take Care- in Texas wacma: Gag Reflux I know it's been awhile since I have posted. I've been in the hospital since the middle of September. Thanks to all of you who sent me well wishes. It sure is nice to have all of your support. After I went to Chicago to the Diamond Headache Clinic, I was put on Nardil (an MAO inhibitor)to control my headaches. I'm 9 months post- op. I ended up getting a severe reaction to it so they took me off of it. But what it left me with is no gag reflux. I have wondered how many of us ACMer's do not have our gag reflux. I want to know if it will come back or do I have to eat soft foods forever. I'm not sure if it was a side effect of the medication or if it is Chiari related. My doctors say neither. All tests that were done came back normal. Does anyone have the same problem with their gag reflux or am I just an odd ball. Guest guest
When I saw Dr. Batzdorf he found that I have almost no gag reflex. He told me to expect that it might take up to a year after the surgery to return. Don McNeil Tucson, AZ wacma: Gag Reflux > I know it's been awhile since I have posted.
