Guest guest
I, too am on a prescription Vitamin D. Mine is in mcg and not units. My endo gave me mine since I lost parathyroid function after my thyroid surgery last year. Vitamin D helps calcium absorption. Since I don't have chronic pain, I didn't notice a change in the pain I do get. Debbie J
Guest guest
There's a newer view of vitamin D that sees the so-called deficient readings being due to infection causing the precursor form that they usually measure being depleted due to conversion into the active form. Vitamin D supplementation (or too much sun) is really acting as a steroid and suppresses some symptoms rather than actually helping the illness, in this view. I actually felt better when I reduced vitamin D. Some feel better taking vitamin D but it still helps the disease worsen and progress because the vitamin D is acting like a steroid. To read more about this, I suggest reading more about the Marshall Protocol (for instance google Marshall protocol CISRA vitamin D or go to _http://members.aol.com/SynergyHN/vitd_ (http://members.aol.com/SynergyHN/vitd) ). Also, see the section on vitamin D dysregulation/hypersensitivity in the wikipedia article on vitamin D (google vitamin D). Joyce
