Guest guest
Hello, I rang my rheumatologist's office and told the girl that my pain was bad and I needed something - prednisone maybe - to help me get through until the MTX kicks in. I'm on Oxycontin at the moment, but it doesn't even do much for me - the pain is getting so intense now and all my joints are affected (not spine). I asked her if my rheum could get back to me today since I couldn't last much longer like this, but she couldn't give me a definite answer because " it was up to the doc to decide when to get back to patients " . She said he generally tried to respond to patients within a reasonable time frame, but no garauntees. She told me to go the emergency dept at a local hospital where there's a rheumatologist on duty - that was all she could suggest. Sheesh! What's the point of having a doctor at all. And my GP won't give me anything - hes says it's up to my rheum to prescribe anything like prednisone. What do they want us to do - die in agony ?? I might as well jump in front of a bus, and that will put an end to my misery real fast. Life feels like hell - I wish I had a friend I could call. Thanks for listening....
