My Rheumatologist suggested I go off the MTX when taking an antibiotic but that

was for short term only, like a week at the most. I'd recommend you talk to your

doctor about it.

Subject: [ ] methotraxate med and infections , what to do?

Hello, I have a question about infections with this med.  I have a bad infected

toe that is not healing.  I have just about been on methotraxate for three

months.  Are you suppost to get off methotraxate when taking any antibiotics?

Plus I am starting bruse easily. sorry about typing.

But would like to know if I need to be off the med to take an antibiotic.

 Thanks...lori

Yes Lori,

You need to be off your mtx, when taking the antibiotic. I hope you

feel better soon,

Tawny
