Guest guest
Ok, that graphic just made me LOL, out loud...as Monk says. OMG Bruce, that was just damn funny!!! I'm wearing the nose hose as we speak, I promise! I think almost all hotels have a business center now, so you should be able to keep us updated, as you feel up to it. I know this whole trip and the tests will be an ordeal in and of themselves, but updates will be greatly appreciated.... Hugs and a big smile! Guest guest
Babs I don't look at it like an ordeal but rather like the chance to get checked out by the best and get everything previous confirmed or find out more. It's also making a longer trip than I have before and showing that I can do it and enjoy it and I do intend to enjoy it. Plus, I do have plans to eat dinner at what I consider the best restaurant in the country (original one in Miami Lakes but one in Chicago) with an incredible woman. It's pretty amazing now that I can't think of anywhere in this country I could go that I don't have a friend I'd like to see. Every time I think of a trip I think of who is along the route. I still want to find a map and put pins in it for all the people and locations. Can't find it on computer so may have to resort to old methods of regular map. > > > > > > > > > > Hi Y'all, I had a very busy day and just now got around to > > posting.... > > > > > Pulmo visit went well. Guest guest
That's a cool idea Bruce. A visual reminder of all the people who care about you, and all the places you have yet to see, or places you've been.... I like it!!! Chicago is an interesting city. I've been there once, 9 years ago before I became so ill, and we had a wonderful time. Enjoy it all and give us detailed reports and your thoughts about what you see and do. When do you leave? I don't want to say Safe Travels days ahead of time and look a fool..... Hugs! Guest guest
Babs I'm leaving on Monday and will leisurely drive over two days. I'm going to pick some things along the way I want to see. Wednesday I start with a CT, then Echo, then PFT's, bloodwork when I have a break and then the Doctor. Thursday could be more or just relaxing after Wednesday until a special evening which by itself is worth the whole trip. Friday I'll head back unless they want to do something else and get home either Saturday or Sunday. I've got over 150 CD's pulled and ready for the trip (some mine and some borrowed) and the liquid reservoir and concentrator already in my van, my portable tank ready as well. My powerchair lift is being installed tomorrow and while I don't anticipate using the chair on the trip you never know. Tulsa zoo is world class...maybe I'll decide to zoom around. St. Louis, Chicago....I've been told I must see the aquarium somehow while there. I'm looking forward to this little adventure. Funny, here I am on oxygen and headed out on this. I've never taken a road trip this long by myself before and not one with or without anyone else as an adult. I worked too much and never vacationed. I also really look forward to meeting the people at the University of Chicago. Brown, the coordinating nurse, just called and she is just so incredible. Reminds me of Tamra at Emory who I'm sure Jane and others can sing praises of. Anyone got any things I should stop and see for a few minutes along the way just yell or if there is anyone close to the route, a man does have to eat and I'll always take any of you to lunch or dinner or just sit and talk. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Y'all, I had a very busy day and just now got around to > > > > posting.... > > > > > > > Pulmo visit went well.
