Interesting that you should mention the Clarins line. The line offers samples

of many of their products. I was totally unfamiliar with it until I got a

sample of their matte powder foundation. Living in hot and humid Houston, I

wanted something to cover up the redness and little broken veins on my cheeks

and I wanted something that didn't become a greasy goo as the day went by, like

so many cream and liquid foundations do. I don't know if I'm unusual to be 50

and have this oily face, but the heat, humidity, makeup and whatever else just

adds to it. I had a matte powder foundation by Christian Dior that was ok in

the wintertime, but was completly failing me as the days started heating up

around here. I went back to the Clarins sample and found it stayed really nice,

so I just recently pluncked down my cash on their matte foundation in a compact.

Don't know what's in it, but it has an additional SPF15 and it stays on good and

absorbs the excess oil, covers really well and I don't notice any major

burning...but each is different. I don't have a major problem, as yet, with

acne type stuff, mainly redness on cheeks and some broken veins and ocular. But

my Dillards had those wonderful little compact samples so you don't waste $30

like I did with Christian Dior!
