Guest guest
When I really pay attention to my hunger and fullness it feels good, however, with my job I may not always be hungry but know if I don't have something to eat when I get the chance it may be hours before I can eat again and if I do bring food with me I can't always eat it anyway. Impossible with the work I do. I'm wondering if this will hinder my efforts on my IE journey. Thanks, J.
Guest guest
J, rather than hinder you, I'd say it will more challenge you. If you must go long times without eating, you could benefit by experimenting with yourself to find what 'holds' you the longest. Protein and fat take the longest time to digest while carbs digest more quickly. Is it possible for you to eat something little/quick like a 'power bar'? And if you are eating a 'solid' breakfast to start your work day, then not feeling hungry again at lunch break, maybe cutting back on the amount or changing the type of food you eat then could help you 'time' your hunger around set eating times? Let us know what you discover and see if you can't turn this into fun too. I find that lots more encouraging than if I think of it as a 'task'. Guest guest
Thanks Katcha. I love a challenge. I'll have to work on it some more. Protein bars are a great idea! I keep my purse with me and I could easily keep the power bars, possibly mixed nuts and fruit, muffins and good old apples in it just in case. The lunches and dinners I bring sometimes get left behind in the fridge. A good, sustainable lunch for me are Kaisers from the Italian bakery with meats, cheeses and some fat.
