Oh my! Another beautiful message and a totally different reason. I am

sure that making the decision to have a CI was difficult for but

the fact that he has made it is wonderful. We are here to support him

in any way he needs as I know you will do as well. He'll have to take

baby steps but just as a baby learns to walk, as learns to hear,

he will make new progressions in his life and you will be able to share

this with him. It will be challenging at times but very few good

things come without a challenge first.

Congratulations to you both! Please tell that we look forward to

reading about his adventure into sound. All fingers are crossed as

requested!

, I know you have tried to be very patient waiting for your HCG and actually lost it a few times. But I know how you feel. I am too waiting. I actually went thru a clinic in Colorado, which is really nice because you have people there to talk to as well as a doctor. Very nice man. I almost there though, I got my needles and some hormonal perscriptions that I needed per the doctor. The HCG is on its way. Hopefully Monday. I am glad for you because I know you were getting concerned about yours. Wish you the best results and be sure you keep us posted.See what's free at AOL.com.

that is awesome that you have reached under 200! You are doing a great job. I know its sad when you lose people you thought were your friends. Ifelt quite elated myself as I have just been under the 300 mark, so it will be quite a while till I get to what you have accomplished. Weigh to go!!!

Finally!

Hi all,

This morning (my regular weigh in day) for the first time I was able to weigh myself without moving the big weight to the 200 mark. I was able to put it on the 150 mark and move the little weight to 49! After weighing myself, I went on about my business but then had to do it again just to make sure! LOL

I have to say I'm feeling quite weird about it. It's a goal I've been trying to obtain since August and this is the lowest I've weighed since January of 1990. Both really great things, but I also feel sorrowful. I feel almost like I'm in mourning of some kind. Does that make sense? It certainly doesn't to me, but I can't shake it. And there's another part of me that's afraid to think about getting on the scale again - what if it was a mistake??? LOL I know, I'm weird.

Lots has changed since March when I began this, besides my loss of 45 pounds I've lost a couple of people whom I thought were my friends. I've heard that's to be expected but it's still sad.

Anyway, just had to share my big news of the day and how I'm feeling. Hope everyone else is doing well!!!

a, that is great that you got your treadmill up and running. I am trying to sell mine. It is just too hard on the old hips. We are busy this weekend too. I am having a yard sale. After it is over I am going to post everything on freecycle. I don't want to have to pack any of it back up. a <amm@...> wrote: I fianlly got my electrician guy out here... brought it with him free of charge... and did it... I couldn't even get him to take any money for the gas... he lives about 3 miles away. Anyhow... Yep, I had my first work out today... 20 minutes on the treadmill. It is going to take me a while to figure out all the different things that it can do. I tried the heart rate mode, but it would only do 2mph and then incline for the heart rate increase. I was not fond of that so switched to manual to finish the work out. And had my heart rate above what it was trying to keep me at. Maybe tomorrow I will try a different program and see what that hold for me. I hope everyone has a great weekend! I know mine is busy today and Sunday and Saturday will be trying to get the weekly stuff that wasn't done caught up. a

, No... the treadmill was a used one from Ebay, but it is a cybex commercial model.... it has a weight limit of 400lbs. I looked on the cybex site for a manual, but they didn't have one for my model. I sent them an email and never heard back from them. I guess I need to give them a call. I just never seem to remember to do it during their business hours.

You are not fat with no medical problems a, if it is not your thyroid then

it could be something else. However, your symptoms all point to thyroid and no

matter what s/he says about the results, insist that you have a copy of them

(you are so entitled to them) and then post on the group, you will get a much

better diagnosis from these guys than you would from most doctors.

I had a TSH of 8 and was told border line, when it went over 10 I was told that

I was MILDLY hypothyroid would you believe!!!

How long will you have to wait to get your results a. As

soon as you get them from your GP, post them onto the message board together

with the reference range for each of the tests. I wish he had tested your FT3

as well as FT4 and also tested to see if you have antibodies to your thyroid.

but first things first, let's see what these results show first.

I'm having the blood test tomorrow morning as he is also testing for diabetes

(just routine as I had gestational diabetes) so I require a fasting test.

I'm assuming I will have to wait a few days and I will then call the GP for my

results (as from previous experience they don't call to let you know the results

unless there is a problem), but I will post them as soon as I have them.

Thanks for your help

If they tell you that your results are within the 'normal'

reference range a - do not accept that. Tell them that you want the actual

figures for each test and also the reference range for each test too - these

are yours by law, they cannot withhold these results.

I've checked the blood form and it is testing for renal, lft, calcium, glucose,

tsh, t4 (is that the same as ft4?) and fbc.

Roni,

The uptake test (and the index) are ways to measure how much T4 and T3

are bound versus free. Since you are measuring T4 and FT4, as well as

FT3, the uptake is redundant.

These confirm an RT3 problem. Are your symptoms hypoT even with the low

TSH? That also fits.

Roni,

There is an RT3 group if you are interested. Val is the moderator and is

very knowlegeable in RT3. It is:

<http://www.RT3_T3 >

I also know that Sam is knowlegeable also but does not believe that Rt3 is a

concern and believes in treating it by another route. So maybe Sam is still

reading our posts and she can give you another viewpoint.

For me being on just T3 has helped me a great deal. I find out this week if it

REALLY has because I will be getting labs done. But physically I can tell a

difference. More energy, less swelling, no teeth marks on the sides of my tongue

which I have had for over 20yrs since getting hypoT. Stopped losing so much

hair, sleeping MUCH better. Temps are going up.

Hope this helps

that taking

something like armour or thyrolar which I had taken for years and years is what

Hi Roni,

Yes, the T4 is causing the Rt3 and you have to go on just T3 and the typical

amount of time on T3 is around 12 weeks but some are in their 15th week and

still are not optimal. Everyone is different. Finding a doctor may be

difficult. I have a naturopath that is willing to work with me.

Hi, Venizia. I so glad you're doing better. One thing that is a real

drag is to see people struggling so hard and so long with health

difficulties and having no way to help at all.

Congrats!

Enjoy your time in Mexico. I think you¹ll find that walking on the beach is

great for the new knee and will be some great exercise. Not to mention in
