What size needle do you use and what is your dose. Best to do shots every week

this keeps you more leveled go to www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe

for Success and the HCG Update. Dr. Shippen does his T shots evey 3 days to

stay leveled and keep Estraiol down. What your doing is old and puts you on a

roller coaster ride with higher levels of Estradiol and this kills your sex

life.

I would guess it is all in the technique. It is really hard to jab your self in

the rear end especially your non-dominate hand side. Could be you are going in

at an angle instead of 90 degrees.

1 1/2 21G... We have been begging my Endo to go once a week but he

wants to wait on test results. I started my shots 90 days ago and I

just got my blood drawn last Friday. I feel good for about 5-6 days

Take him a copy of the AACE guidelines.

Here's a quote from the guidelines:

" For complete androgen replacement, the regimen

should be between 50 and 100 mg of testosterone enanthate

or cypionate administered intramuscularly every 7 to

10 days, which will achieve relatively normal levels of

testosterone throughout the time interval between injections

(50). Longer time intervals are more convenient but

are associated with greater fluctuations in testosterone

levels.

Higher doses of testosterone produce longer-term

effects but also higher peak levels and wider swings

between peak and nadir circulating testosterone levels; "

While the doctors won't listen to us, they tend to listen to the

associations and guidelines.

Injections are just like real estate: location location location.

Suggest that your wife make note of where on the right side she's done you,

and move a little up and out from those areas the next time. The body's not

completely symmetrical - vein location on the left and right side is not the

exact same side. Look at your elbow pits, wrists, or back of your hand to

see this. Butt's the same way. Alternating sides, every other week, for

only 90 days, you haven't had a whole lot of shots in one particular spot,

and I think we tend to go for the same spot on injections unless we make a

conscience effort to not.

Print out the AACE Guildlines I think it's on page 11 where it states to do

shots every 7 to 10 days. He can't argue with this.

I wouldn't lie. The response might well be to reduce your

testosterone dose (if you're using it) or discontinue treatment

instead of testing your estradiol levels.

Brad is right. My E2 count was 55 on my last test. My doctor who

admittedly is not an expert on TRT deferred to a local group of

Endocrinologists. Their response was that they DO NOT test for E2

levels and if there is evidence of gynocomastia to reduce or stop TRT.

There's a lot varying opinion about that. For me gels stopped working.

Gels are also ridiculously expensive.

Then you should expect a very low value. I would expect you to be back around

100. This is too long - maximum should be 7 -10 days

Hi Group:

Why is it just when you think you have this RA under control: BOOM, you have a

bad day. I swear, I felt great this week, energy, not tired, just doing my

regular when BOOM: my knee goes out, my ankles and knees are swollen (ok, it is

VERY hot in NYC) and yesterday I slept from 7PM until this AM, unable to move

and get up, I had to force myself, and I mean FORCE to get out of bed.

Yesterday, I literally was falling asleep at my desk, I couldnt snap myself out

of it, I went home and went to bed. All this medication, ugh. i am so

depressed today, feel like crying, but I know I have to keep moving forward. I

gotta work, I have responsibilities.

Just venting I guess.......

Hi OKD.  So sorry to read that you are suffering badly, and just so tired from

the pain and RA. I have always said, " RA rears its ugly head to us when we least

expect it.  I too hate the tiredness, and not being able to get out of bed or

even function.  It is the worst.

I am glad you wrote us, and know we all care about you.  I so hope you can get

some RA meds, and pain meds., to help you through this.  I hate all that pain

and suffering too.  I also hate when I am that tired, that I can't function at

all.  It must be just awful for you to know you can't stay home, but have to

work under these conditions.  My heart goes out to you.

I hope you call your Rheumy and see if he/she can help you out.  Pain and

suffering is so hard, both mentally and physically.  Wishing you better days

ahead.  I care OKD.

Hugs,

Barbara

Thanks OKD.  Those words of yours are so nice to me.  I am seeing a therapist

while dealing with my life and the loss of my 30 year marriage.  I tried to

help myself, but I could not nor could I stop crying all the

time......sigh............My Dr. said " What took you so long to get in here?  I

am surprised you lasted so long without help " .  He was so right.  I am always

happy when I can help someone here with a few words, kindness, and caring.  You

all here know how much I love you all.  It has been a very hard 1 1/2 years

going through all this pain and suffering.  I am amazed that my RA has been so

good.  My drs.are all amazed too.

I have not written much about my foot surgery.  I thought it was a simple

surgery, remove the RA nodule and all will be fine.  Not so.  It has been 5

weeks of hell.  The incision is in the worst possible area of my foot.  Under

my arch, slightly to the outside.  The moment I stand, I am standing right on

the incision.  Very, very painful.  Had the stitches out, stayed off my feet

most of each day, and the wound got infected.  Pain city hit me.  The firtst

round of anti-biotics did nothing.  I just finished the second round.  I was

eating pain meds. like gumdrops, and they did little good to ease my pain.  I

have been back to the foot surgeon, each Mon.  Can't go in the pool and that

has been very hard!!!  On top of this, I forgot to not take my MTX shot while

on the anti-biotics.....thus, my infection was running wild!  I did go this

Mon. to the dr. and he said, my incision is almost healed...finally.  I go next

Mon, for a re-check.  I

can go in my pool next Mon. finally.  I am still off my feet most of each

day.  It was so painful I used my walker and cane.  I could hardly tolerate

standing on this foot.  I am very unsteady on my feet, and walk with caution.

I hope the nodule on my left foot remains small and quiet.  I do not want

another surgery like this one.  I have my foot bandaged and keep a sock on that

foot to keep it clean.  I have been house bound for 5 long weeks.  I did get

out a few times, for a very short time.  I am glad that it will all be over

soon, and I can continue my life.

I am starting my new life.  Quite a change from being married so long.  Still

taking things one day at a time as always.

I do read all the posts each day.  Such wonderful members we have.

I hope you feel better soon.  Wishing you many pain free days ahead.

Hugs,

Barbara

My  Barbara.....What a tough time.

I am so sorry this is the way your summer has been.

I have been spending time with podiatrists also.

My feet xrays are horrid...bone spurs, inflamed toe joints and riddles with RA.

I wish I could wear the xrays as a badge for all those that think I should walk

more etc...

I will send prayers and healing thoughts your way.

Blessings, love and light...

Thanks for you nice and kind and loving letter.

I so agree with you about our RA feet.  It is killer pain.  Some days when I

stand up, I don't know if they will hold me up, or if I would

fall.  I dred even to go shopping because of the pain.  My feet were hit the

hardest with RA.  I so know your pain and suffering. I am at the point that I

do not care what people think anymore.  Walk in my shoes for a day, then tell

me how YOU feel.  Who in hell would enjoy walking with these feet anyway.

When I lived on Cape Cod I walked 7 days a week no matter the weather.  I

walked about 1 hour or more sometimes and so enjoyed it.  That was before the

RA struck me.  I tell you , I was almost in a wheelchair before I

moved here.  I am most grateful to not be in one.  I do use those elec.

carts in the food stores and they are a blessing.  People just do not

understand what we have to deal with each day.  I thank God each day for our

group as they all know what we deal with 24/7.   Other people with never get.

I am so sorry you are suffering so much with your feet.  Does the Dr. want to

remove the bone spurs?   Will that help you any?

Does soaking them in hot water give you any relief?  I bought a foot bath, add

Epsom salts to the water, and boy, it is very soothing.  I just have to keep

adding hot water.  Have you tried using a heating pad?  I do and wrap my feet

and the pad with a beach towel to keep them warm.  That does feel so good also.

Have you tried Bio-Freeze?  I buy it from the PT office and just love it.

I just hate this weather, and each day the heat index has been 105 for the past

week.  Yikes!!!!  I stay in my AC house and am happy to do so.

How is it going with your condo?  Are you having lots of people still looking

at it?  I know the market has slowed but property is still being sold here.  I

think the market will recover and prices will go up, but I don't think the

prices will be as high as 5 years ago.  Also, as I said before, water front

property is the most wanted.  I hope you get a great buyer soon so you can

move along into Ellenville and your new place.

I sure hope youo feel better soon.  So very nice to talk with you.

Love and hugs,

Barbara

hi...

condo is sold and I am temporarily homeless...staying with friend in Tenn,

awaiting bank approval of my contract for a home in Palmetto.

I do use biofreeze and get temporary relief.

I will do all I can to avoid surgery. I learned decades ago if there is a sidee

effect, I will get it.

Since I can not take celebrex or prednisone, the Dr put me on topical Volatran a

prescription antiinflamatory cream.  It seems to be working but temps have

been over 95 and storms daily.  Hard to know what hurts where...

My only outings are to stores with mobility carts...Lowes, home depot, WalMart

and most supermarkets.

I still grab aLL THE PLEASURE i CAN EACH DAY AND AM GREATFUL WE ALL HAVE EACH

OTHER...

Hi, Great you sold your condo.  Where is Palmetto?

So nice youo could be with your friend until you move into your new home.  I

hope you will be very happy there.  Just take your time getting settled.  It

takes a lot to do that........

I do not want anymore surgery either.  I hope this foot is the end of it.

This has been the worst, and I am not over it yet.  I really hate to stand on

my feet at all.

Yes, I use the carts in all those stores too.  They are great to have for sure.

The heat here is brutal...too hot to go out in.  I love AC, and could not live

here without it.

I hope you feel better soon.
