Guest guest
Hi Melody: So sorry to read how much pain and suffering you have. Perhaps a call to your Rheumy is in order. I get all my pain meds. from my Rheumy, and I do not take any OTC pills. I know it is dangerous to take a lot of Tylenol, as it is bad for our liver. That is why I don't take them. We also have to avoid any alcohol for the same reason. I don't know anything about Ibuproven. I have never taken it. I have G.E.R.D. and take 2 Prilosec a day for this. I never take aspirin either. I know it would tear up my stomach. Your Rheumy is the one that can help you to relieve all your pain, etc. I have 3 kinds of pain meds. here that I can take when needed. I know lots of members here have pain patches on. I have never tried them, but I do know from my friend that they do work. You don't need to suffer like this. We all here have to take RX. meds. for our pain. I have also been on daily use of Pred. for 6 years. I literally could not get out of bed or walk without this. For me, it is my wonder drug. Have you asked your Rheumy about this? I am a firm believer that I will take whatever I need to be pain free and have a life. There is a lot I can't do anymore, but lots I can still do. I am leading the best life I can each day with RA. I am thankful for that. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and hoping you have many pain free days ahead. It is hard to function when you are riddled with pain and suffering. Your Rheumy is the key to feeling better. I hope things get better for you. I care. I will take 4 Ibuprophen to help. I was told that was the maximum amount for anyone to take and it be safe. If I still hurt I will do 2 extra strength Tylanol four hours later. Often, before bed I will take something so I can get some relief and be able to fall asleep. (I don't sleep well because of the pain.) > > What do you all think of that? Guest guest
Melody, You really need to see a rheumatologist. When I was younger, before being diagnosed with RA, I took OTC meds. I didn't worry how many I took, just to deal with pain. I really believe that's why my liver is damaged today. Just know, OTC meds can be dangerous. Even if it's costly, you need to find out what is going on with you.
