Guest guest
Cora, What meds are you taking for the diabetes. I had lows like that when I was on Glucatrol, I now take Glucaphague and have not had a single low. It was a God sent for me. You might want to ask about it. Becareful with lows like that. Mine only got down to 30's and I was so out of it I was afraid I couldn't get to the phone to get help. Always keep some sugar tablets with you. I find the Non flavored kind goes down better. Guest guest
I am not taking any meds for diabetes. I have had several dizzy spells where I would get dizzy to the point of falling down. I asked my mom if I could use my dads diabetes testing supplies (he passed away a few years ago) I just had to buy new test strips etc - just using his machine. Nothing ever comes back weird during the regular blood tests that the doc does. My last sugar levels were 95, 67, 59, 95, 105, 104, 91, 84, 22, 87, 121, 89. I haven't been good about testing it to be honest. I should make a habit of doing it at the same time every day. I bought some tablets today - the choice was raspberry or orange and I picked raspberry. When I did the sugar test during my last pregancy - you know where they make you drink that nasty cola or orange soda stuff - the test came back negative or normal or whatever - but I passed out during the " hour " wait time between drinking the stuff and having my blood drawn again. That was a little over 8 years ago. Then my baby ended up weighing 9 pounds 14 ounces and his sugar levels were tested the first couple of days due to his size - but all was normal. Guest guest
Just a little FYI Cora, anything under 70 is considered a hypoglycemic reading. You've had some low readings there. Can I suggest, if it's at all allowable in your diet, that you add a small amount of something with carbohydrates in it? EG a sandwich or a biscuit etc. Carbohydrates convert to glucose in your body and the carbohydrates last longer in your body than plain glucose tabs or sugar etc. What time of the day do you most have these dizzy moments? If they occur around the same time each day, that's when you should test. If you can manage to test when you're dizzy, that might be informative too. The dizziness you feel MAY be a low glucose reading, it may not, but you won't know until you do a little investigating. Let us know what you discover ok? anne (the curious) [ ] Re:Cora I am not taking any meds for diabetes. I have had several dizzy spells where I would get dizzy to the point of falling down.
