Hi ,

The BBD is a gluten free, dairy free, low fat diet http://www.direct-

ms.org/bestbet. html. It is very restrictive and most persons find it difficult

to follow but, when they do, they find out that it is worth the matter. For  me,

the difficult part was cutting off starch, because I had been a vegetarian for

many years before the BBD, living mainly on starchy foods, fish, vegetables and

fruits. Although my MS problems have always been minimal, from the first weeks

on the BBD I felt improved vitality and stamina. Even more, ulcerative colitis

gradually disappeared. During the first 3 months on the BBD, I lost some weight

I didn't need to lose (8 lb) and haven't put it on again so far. People who

don't know about my MS don't see the point of my being on a diet and think I

might be anorexic! You see, in my country (Greece) people are very focused on

food. I intent to continue this diet, no matter what the doctor I mentioned says

and no matter what

people say. I highly recommend it. If you need any more information, feel free

to ask.

Good luck,

Katerina
