Guest guest
Hi, I called to get an appointment with Dr Anthone but found the length of time to wait was a little shorter for his partner, Dr Crookes. --------and, he is just great. His patients give him wonderful reviews and he told me he works very closely with Dr. Anthone. Also I went on a list to be called in case of a cancellation, and I did get an appointment when a cancellation occurred a month earlier than I had expected. Dr. Crookes said I was a cancidate for the surgery but the psychiatrist who did my evaluation said I was too depressed to have the surgery for at least 6 months and that I needed 6 months of therapy and then he would consider it again. His name is Harish Kavaragian, an associate professor there at USC. Well, I do know when I am depressed and I take Paxil and it is controlled and I am very stable. Besides what American woman who has been fat for over 50 years would be on top of the world? So, my suggestion to you is if you have to be evaluated by this same Dr. Kavaragian, don't let on that you are unhappy about anything in the world. I told him too much as I thought I was supposed to do. I wanted so much for Dr Crookes to do the surgery and just love him but because of this stumbling block I am probably going to have Dr. Welker in Portland. He is also a very fine surgeon and I live up in Washington state so it will all be easier for me. I have told Dr. Welker all about this and it doesn't worry him. Good luck to you whatever decision you make. Betty age 62 Aetna Ins 291# 5'6 "
