Guest guest
Hello RA friends. Well, I have finally caved in. I am going to see a Rheumatologist tomorrow and soon after will actually start medication. It has taken me several months since my initial diagnosis, but I think I finally am at peace with the fact that I need the medication. It's crazy because I have ran 2 5ks since my diagnosis, and this past weekend I actually ran a 10k. But that is not stopping what is happening to my joints, although I do get pain relief from the exercise! So, as scared as I am, I will see what the doc advises tomorrow as far as medication - it probably will be methotrexate and Enbrel, but we will see! Wish me luck Donna
Guest guest
Hi Donna. I wish you good luck at your Rheumy appt. I am glad you are going to see your Rheumy, and hopefully begin to start on the RA drugs. I know it is all scarey all to well. That is how I was 6 years ago, but like you, I made up my mind to try and feel better and have some form of a life. Anything to stop the progression of this beast of a disease. I have been in a medicine induced remission for over 1 1/2 years now, and I am very happy about it.  You are doing such a good thing for yourself. I hope you are successful with any of the RA meds. you take.
