Guest guest
Hello. My name is Moon, and my husband was diagnosed with RA about 2 hours ago. He is at work right now, and I got the call about it. He went to an orthopedist last friday as his elbow swelled up. The blood work just came back as RA. I guess some number should be under 14 in a " normal " person. His was 584. They said he has an active case of RA right now. We have an appointment with a rheumatologist on Monday. I feel like my world is flipped upside down right now. I am a SAHM to our 4 lil boys. Moon
Guest guest
Hi Moon, I think it is great that you are already seeking out a support group and it only happened 2 hours ago. Your husband is lucky to have such a supportive wife, RA sucks all the time but especially at the beginning when you are still in denial. Luckily there are some great medicines out there that can help him get back to a more normal life. He will be ok, you need to just be really strong and supportive, he is in a lot of pain and I am sure it is hard for you to see, but go with him to his appointments and stay positive, he will be feeling better soon. Take Care, Janet ________________________________ From: moonpuff73 <moonpuff@...> Sent: Fri, July 23, 2010 1:00:37 PM Subject: [ ] Newly diagnosed ....  Hello. Guest guest
Moon, Your husband is extremely lucky to have gotten the appt with the rheumy SO fast. I wish him luck in his appt on Monday. Just know that for many people, once the right med is found that works for him, life can be almost normal again. in PA On Fri, Jul 23, 2010 at 1:00 PM, moonpuff73 <moonpuff@...>wrote: > > > Hello. > > My name is Moon, and my husband was diagnosed with RA about 2 hours ago. > He is at work right now, and I got the call about it. Guest guest
The weird thing is, other then the elbow swelling, he is not complaining at all about pain. He is on his way home now. I already told the boys to be careful with Daddy right now. Moon
