Guest guest
Guess I won't be having those fillings or that one gold crown removed. I don't have dental insurance and I can't afford it. Talking about it makes my anxiety level go up! It is true everything you eat, is exposing you to it more. It is sad that dentists are taught to lie to us. And I told him I have MS. He knows it. They have different fillers now that are considered safe...considered....haha! what is?.......my dentist got nasty with me when I demanded he not put the mercury in my daughters mouth...he said....you need to do your homework a little more.....I should have told him...you need to do yours! And I would if he said that to me today. I have gotten to where I despise doctors. Not all, just don't trust them. And many say I am a bit spunky! Good for me!! Thank you all for your input and telling me more! donna www.freewebs.com/lovelaugh/ > > In a message dated 9/17/2006 2:43:29 A.M. Guest guest
Donna, Sounds as if you need to find another dentist!!! No way should you allow mercury in you/your daughter's mouth!! > > > In a message dated 9/17/2006 2:43:29 A.M. Guest guest
To my knowledge, gold crowns are GOLD, and do not contain any mercury. Am I confused? [low dose naltrexone] Re: Flu shot question Donna, Sounds as if you need to find another dentist!!! Guest guest
Personally, I won't ever have one because of the ingredients. I've just had swine flu and it was milder than any flu I've ever had. Thousands die from seasonal flu every single year in the uk but less than 1000 people worldwide have died from swine flu. There is mercury in Tamiflu which governments are pushing, ( Rumsfeld stands to make millions from the sale of Tamiflu as he has massive shares in the company.) The swine flu vaccine is being trialled in Australia and young children in Greece. There are scientists now saying that because of all the vaccinations we received as children could actually be the cause of auto immune diseases. Apart from anything else no one knows how these vaccines will react to our drugs. I have no need to be a further guinea pig to find out. I never had a chest infection in my life til I started Enbrel. Do your research about flu shots and such like then make an informed choice. That's all any of us can do. Good luck. ________________________________ From: kay.wilde <kay.wilde@...> Sent: Thursday, 20 August, 2009 16:52:58 Subject: [ ] Flu Shot Question Hi Everyone! I just read on Arthritis Today that anyone taking DMARDs should be careful about taking flu shots because of lowered immunity. I would think that they would be more important than ever - but what do I know - I'm still new to all this. This is something relevant we should all be informed about, especially with the swine flu scare. Imput from anyone? ? On a side note: I just learned that there is a possibility that my bosses might continue my insurance till the end of the year even though my checks will stop the end of September. It's something at least and would give me a bit of time to hopefully get disability and medicare approval for medical. Nothing definate yet, so keep your fingers crossed for me. Guest guest
My doctor requires a flu shot each year. Her argument is that it is better to receive the vaccination than to chance getting a hideous respiratory infection. The flu vaccines used in the US are dead (deactivated) vaccines - no one on a DMARD or other immunosuppressant should have live vaccines, period! Guest guest
Thans ,  That makes perfect sense. I'm sure we all often feel like guinea pigs stuck on wheels going no where. That's why this group is so important - we can get and share information - then make our own informed decisions.  Kay
Guest guest
Regarding flu shots, it's the ones with live virus that we must avoid, such as the inhaled flu shot. My rheumy always makes sure I get a flu shot every year. He says it's even more important for those of us on the immunosuppressant drugs to get one, since we're more susceptible to infection. There were autoimmune diseases before there were vaccinations. But we each have to make up our own minds. Guest guest
One Alabama County closed all of their schools today because there were so many out with the flu, already. > > Regarding flu shots, it's the ones with live virus that we must avoid, > such as the inhaled flu shot. Guest guest
I get the flu shot every year and I still end up with the flu. My RA Dr. recommends it and also I have had the pneumonia shot over 5 years ago. A one time thing. My body does not fight off infections and I am around anyone with a cold I get it. My dad was in the hospital last week. A man was on the elevator with my daughter and me. He was sneezing and coughing repeatedly. 2 days later I am sneezing and runny nose and chills. Could it be from something else? Could be, but I was fine before the elevator thing. Irish
Guest guest
Yes they did. I live in Alabama and there were 2 counties that closed their schools due to Swine flu. They will open next Friday after cleaning and disinfecting things according to the news. I am no where near those counties although my son works in and out of one of the counties doing truck deliveries for the company he works for. He has been with a cold for about 2 weeks and Dr. says it is just an ordinary cold. I am glad that I am already sick with a cold and taking meds. Guest guest
What is the other county besides Macon County? A friend of mine just told me that her daughter was tested this morning for swine flu and there was a 90% probability she was positive. She said it's bad in the school her daughter goes to, In Elmore County. This is really scaring me. > > Yes they did.
