Guest guest
Hi Everybody! wondering if anyone else has had these things happen... on Wed. I went for my 3rd biofeedback appt. I hadn't been feeling good at all (had left work early). The tech and I were going over my week and just talking when my mouth got EXTREMELY dry. She got some water for me. I began sipping the water and began to feel very lightheaded and nauseous. The tech helped me recline back in the chair and then I began to feel very hot on the inside, but very cold onthe outside and started to sweat a lot. Then, both of my hands went NUMB and my fingers started drawing together. The tech went to get my husband and the Dr. in charge of the biofeedback clinic. The entire episode lasted about 8 minutes. Everything started slowing coming back to normal, but I had an enormous headache and my body felt like it had been run over. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before, and it scared me to death! The Biofeedback director/Dr. came in (after everything had gone away) and did a quick neuro exam; determined I was not in any immediate danger. I followed up with my PCP yesterday (the nsg I have seen most recently is out of town this week and I won't be able to see him until my appt on Nov. 21--ARRGHH!) She basically told me that there really wasn't anything else she could do, except provide me with pain meds until my appt on the 21st. I told her I was very concerned about the episode Wed. esp. the numbness of my hands. She said that according to my cervical spine MRI (done in March 2000) there was no syrinx. I asked her could one have developed since--she didn't answer. Any thoughts/ideas? Both of my hands hurt very bad through the night last night and I woke up several times with numbness. Another interesting tidbit--I also saw my optomitrist yesterday concerning my visual changes. Turns out my prescription has changed-- for the better! She couldn't explain that one either. Thank you all for your care and support! I couldn't get through all this without you all! love and prayers, Kaycey ACM 1; 6-8mm; no surgery
